First meeting here and... first day at work! :)

Hello everyone! Welcome to my blog about my everyday life!

Firstly, I want to answer the main question: why have I decided to write about my job. The reason is quite simple: because I find it really interesting and funny. Sometimes I hate it. Nevertheless, mostly I just love it. I want to show why and when do I like it and when not. I think this kind of work is not for everyone and I will try to prove why.

To start, I want to come back for a while to my first day at work. I started to work as receptionist some months ago... well, to be honest, almost five! I remember it clearly. I hadn't had any experience related with reception desk, even as a guest because every place I visit, I usually sleep at my friend's home... The thruth is that students save money everywhere ;) Thus, it was July when I started. The 1st of July, to be accurate. Night before Poland had a football match with Portugal and it was very important match for us, deciding if Poland's representation will participate in final match of Euro 2016. I was cheering our team on very strongly so I overslept for my first day at work... well... When I finally got to work, I sat in front of the computer and... felt like in the jungle.
Why?
Oh, it is easy. This is the main reason why I think working as receptionist isn't for everyone. Imagine: you're actually trying to focus on doing an invoice for guest or filling the check-in card correctly, it would be good not to make any mistake, but suddenly three or even more people is coming to the desk and asking you:
Guest No. 1: Sorry, where is the nearest toilet?
Guest No.2: Excuse me, why the breakfast here is really bad?
Guest No. 3: Have you seen my child?! With big beautiful eyes...

... and the telephone is ringing. And you can see four e-mails with reservations for TODAY that are coming...

... what to do now? No, it's not good idea to sit down and cry. The solution's name is: dobule S. Survive and smile.

An interesting meeting

Do you remember the Spanish businessmen from my last post? Today I would like to describe a meeting with them. They ended their travel in Poznan, the last meeting they had in Pniewy. They invited Agata (she went with them as a translator) and me to the supper on the Old Square in Poznan. I decided to go with them to Gospoda Poznanska so they could try some local delicacies. It was an evening rich in tastes, cultures, impressions and languages. They were describing their feelings about Poland, it was their first time here and their opinion surprised me because they were truly amazed. I think Poland is beautiful, we’ve got very rich culture, good music, tasty food, polish people are friendly, open-minded and well-educated and I really appreciate my country, but I wouldn’t think that Poland could make such a huge impact on people from Andalusia which is magnificant!! How I became a burglar

Tuesday. Normal day. At 7:20 in the morning I come to the office.  On Tuesday I’m always first at office. I always open the door with the key, enter the room and put a special code to unlock the alarm. With calm I turn on the computer, I prepare coffee and open the windows. Last Tuesday, while doing this things, I suddenly heared an unbearable voice of the intercome. Surprising: it was too early for any client or guest. I opened the door and there was coming a man dressed in black uniform with security label on his chest. “We’ve recived a report about burglary” he said and looked at me suspiciously. He eyed me up. I felt uncomfortable and surprised. “Eee…” I said. “I’m not a burglar…” Well, I don’t look like a burglar. It was quite funny situation for me but the funniest one was this man acting like he was an anti-terrorist and has already caught me red-handed. Until today I don’t know why he came there. Miracles do happen

What a sad day... Rainy Monday. Let's refresh memories from the holidays... If anyone of you spent this summer in Poland, should not have very positive impressions – I’m talking about the weather of course. My fiancé and I we were almost praying for good weather during our staying on the north of Poland. During 6 months before our trip J. had been repeating all the time: “You’ll see, while we be there, the sun will be shining!”. Well… in fact, at the moment we arrived, it was…raining, hahaha. I wasn’t sad – I still had hope. And you know what? Maybe the 1 st day wasn’t perfect, but the rest 5 days were magnificent!!! We had a lot of sun and I came back after 6 days with my skin tanned as if I had been to Egipt. Next part of my summer I spent with my fiancé and friends in the mountain… my passion and big love J What did happen there? I’ll write about that in the next post!
